One of the fastest growing fields in the medical industry, more ultrasound technicians are interested in working as technicians either in hospitals or in medical diagnostic centers. If before sonographers were looked down upon, today, even the medical industry recognizes the importance of technicians in diagnosing someone’s illness.
So, what things do ultrasound technicians like about their work?
Salary helps meet family needs. Because this is one of the highest paid careers in the medical industry, practitioners can provide a better future for their children. Normally, the minimum hourly rate for technicians is around $ 17 per hour, whereas for the more experienced (in terms of years and specialization), rates can be as high as $ 27 and up. In addition to basic salary, they are also entitled to overtime pay, which is also a normal scenario if you work as a sonographer and in a hospital.
Medical benefits are given to their families. Being in the field of sonography enables practitioners to extend their medical and health benefits to their family members. This is beneficial for the whole family because not all medical institutions have the same employee benefits in addition to the benefits stated by the State given to medical practitioners.
Security of ownership. Despite the recession, the need for additional ultrasound technicians is increasing unlike in other professions where employees are released due to redundancy in positions or the company itself has stopped operating.
But in the case of ultrasound technicians, and other professions in the medical field, projections are even growing especially now that there is a large dependence on ultrasound results as one of the bases for making prognoses.
The ability to provide information about the nature of the disease and assist in diagnosing the patient’s disease appropriately. Because doctors themselves are very dependent on the results of the scan and MRI, the role of the technician in the medical team also increases because he does an actual scan and actually discusses the results with the doctor. In terms of knowledge, this helps you get more information and understanding about various diseases, which you can still use as a basis if you want to get more involved in the medical field by becoming a doctor.
Dignity at work. Ultrasound technicians like the fact that to become a practical technician, one must undergo rigorous training and pass certification examinations to become a registered member of an accredited organization such as Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), or the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). In addition, a person must graduate from a reputable and accredited school to qualify for the certification exam, thereby increasing professionalism in his work as a sonographer.
Emotional satisfaction helps others. In addition to taking visual images of patients’ internal organs, ultrasound technicians find satisfaction in knowing that they can help in making a diagnosis. As part of the medical team, technicians play an important role in providing correct and most accurate patient scans. Thus, … Read More
When parents think about raising a child who will be successful, their thoughts are often geared to a child’s academic accomplishments. While success is not always defined solely by academic standards, most parents will go the extra mile to ensure their child has a solid foundation for school. As reading is the gateway to all learning, one way they can do this is to encourage their kids to read. Reading helps develop comprehension and vocabulary skills, which are critical to academic success.
Reading is a vitally important acquisition in life and leads to learning in every area. Gaining reading skills early will be critical to understanding math, history, science and other subjects. A struggling reader will have difficulty engaging in and enjoying the learning process at school. Even though many parents hold out hope that a poor reader may be a strong math student, the truth is that reading skills are required for every subject. Take, for instance, a typical math problem like the one below.
Joey is looking for a way to earn money during his summer break and decides to offer a dog-walking service. He plans to walk one dog at $8.00 for 30 minutes. If he walks three dogs a day, how much money will he make? How long will it take him to walk four dogs?
For many students who suffer from poor reading and comprehension skills, that problem is going to require a lot of effort. During tests, when time is at a premium, the poor reader will spend more time on word problems than is needed. Without adequate comprehension skills, a student might get the answer wrong. This will result in a frustrated child who may disengage from the learning process and ultimately earn poor grades.
Reading is also vitally important to building vocabulary skills. When a child reads, he inevitably comes to words that are not familiar. Of course, encouraging him to use an online dictionary or other tools to define the word is one way to capture the word’s meaning. But reading the word in context, i.e. within a story or passage, gives a child a better idea of how the word is used. A strong vocabulary is important to subjects like science or history, which require constant reading. The more words a child learns, the better he will understand a variety of other material. One of the key benefits to developing a strong vocabulary is that soon your child will be comfortable adding new words to their everyday language.
Recognizing how critically important reading can be will inspire you to teach your child the literacy skills needed for a solid education. Developing comprehension and vocabulary skills, specifically, will equip your child to meet the academic challenges ahead of him. Reading will bring your child a love of learning and the ability to explore a variety of subjects. It is the doorway to a lifetime of achievement and the gateway to all learning.… Read More

Should Systems Thinking be part of Education? A resounding YES is the answer. Besides the wonderful things it does for students – like improving analysis, evaluation, and creative skills – it is simply the way we think and learn.
Any instructor who has had good success with their craft will tell you that ‘routines and procedures’ are an important part of setting up for good instruction. The students know what to expect, when, and how. They have a good idea of how the social culture of the classroom operates, what is expected of them, and how to go about doing well in their course and more. That is good instruction. That is also an example of the use of systems in education.
Of course, the many and multi-faceted uses of systems thinking in education and instruction goes further than what has just been explained, but the greatest power of systems in education is in the simple structure of routines and procedures and basic instructional patterns.
Think about this: anyone who has ever worked in an environment in which you did not know the expectations, when things are to be done, how they should be done etc knows the ultimate frustration that results. You know you are in some sort of system, but you cannot see it or seem to learn about it.
Systems thinking is most powerful when it is about using knowledge of the systems surrounding us and making clear how those systems operate so that we can use leverage to gain more from them. This becomes very clear in any comprehensive approach in which systems are utilized for maximum instructional and learning gain!
Systems already have a place in education. They just need to have their place clarified and consciously utilized so that we can gain more and, benefit more. There is a good deal more to say on this subject and much more, I will say. Systems thinking in education is a wonderful field that can be used with conscious effort for excellent and very beneficial results.
Try deliberately using systems in anything you teach today! Start by thinking about the ‘whole’ rather than the fragments, parts, or bits of knowledge you want to impart. Come at your instruction by first making a picture in the learner’s mind of what the ‘entire’ concept is all about and how the parts fit together. When you have this communication in place, the fragments, parts, and bits have a place to land! A sticking point, I call it. When learners have frameworks in place, they can learn, store, and recall with much greater ability. Your job is to communicate the system. Good instructors have been doing this forever.… Read More
